aKDPhi at National Convention in Houston, TX
WILL POST IN A LATER ENTRY....
KANSAS CITY, CALIFORNIA & LAS VEGAS PICS - will post later on...
if you guys want the larger version of any of these pics, lemme know okay!
I don't really have much to write about... Nothing other than a generic update about what went on in the past something months. :D I guess I'm just not that fascinating of a character anymore. *wink*
So anyway, here's the basic outline. And ya'll know me.. "Basic" ain't really the general definition of "basic." It's LISAH BASIC, yo! If you are not an avid reader, I recommend calling it quits right HERE. To the few and the brave willing to go on, ENJOY reading about my boring summer.
My brother, Viet, graduated from Mustang HS in May. Too bad I missed the majority of his graduation because a car slammed into me in Norman ! Careless drivers. The cool part was that Duy and I got to go to the hospital in an ambulance. My first ambulance trip ever. Hopefully, also my last =X. Hospital bills: almost $2,500. My car was undriveable and was towed out to the middle of nowhere. I was depressingly car-less for 1.7 months, besides the very few but precious days I drove around a Stratus and an Impala. Total car bills: $2,400. Yucky. :( Anyway... that's still up in the air, unresolved and complicated as a muthaaa... so I'll just let my lawyer deal with that one.
The aKDPhi National Convention in Houston, TX was OFF THE HOOK! Yes, it was simply AMAZING. The national convention was a great opportunity to meet the millions of other aKDPhi ladies, to see my big Chi Marie, to see our p'mom Petra, and to just chill with the girls. It was so inspirational seeing the high level of commitment and devotion the national board and aKDPhi chapters from all across the nation had for this sorority. The West Oaks Galleria Hotel was such a classy place to stay, and oh, my bed, I did love my bed. And Club Hush was, by far, THE best club I have ever set foot in. Oh yeah!! I no longer feel bad about "dancing like a stripper," because I saw some girls gettin' their FUUUHHHREAKKK on yo! What can I say? aKDPhi girls know how to drop it like it's hot. Especially in their presents. OU needs to represent for the next convention that rolls around. :D Overall, it was an enlightening and fun-filled experience. And I'm so glad my baby could come with us, and act all GANGSTA and protect us from the nasty guy who was trying to "buy a girl," if you know whaaa i mean. EWWWW! Pure nastiness! He also drove almost the entire way there and the entire way back, so that was nice, too. hehe :) By the way, "nice" would be the understatement of the year...
My hair is back to black, again. And I think it's going to be a long-term commitment this time. Because once you go black, you can never go back... HAHA yeah.... that's what I say, anyway... But colors have been dancing around in my mind, lately... so ya never know with my hair. I do love black, though!
So I introduced Duy to my parents. And guess wha?!?!? THEY ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIM!!! Not quite the turnout I expected... But hey, it'll do. HEHEHEE Actually, I'm ecstatic, thrilled, OVERJOYED, to say the least. I think they see all the Duy-induced characteristics in me and they like that he's such a good influence. The first boyfriend that actually comes over, helps me cook a meal, and then sits down at the family dinner table despite the overpowering intimidation that must be weighing him down heavier than the biomass of all the microorganisms on earth. Awww!!!
My summer was completely and entirely DRAMA-FREE. :) And it was just so chill. Just the way I like it! All I did was stay at home with my family and the boyfriend. With the exception of the two months I was out of state. Five different states in two months, yeah..... that was fun. Hehe But anyway, the only drama we actually had to deal with was that fight at the club in KC where Duy knocked out two unfortunate guys (tsk tsk..), and where even the girls got their hands dirty. Lesson of that story: don't mess with Duy when he's on alcohol. The boy gets a little cra-zAy. Living life laidback isn't always without its consequences, however. To those of you who thought I "fell off the face of the earth," rest assured, I'm perfectly fine. I just had to do my own thing, ya feeling me? Cleared my head, did my thinking, now everything's cool. And as unfortunate as this may sound to those who have to put up with it... my original, so-called "corny," sense of humor has come back full-force! Wa-hoo! I've made up my mind, and it's as definite as can be-- I'm going to put my full efforts into everything I do, say, think, act, you name it. No more half-assed attempts outta me, life is just too damn short and good. But, please, slap me if I am anywhere near to being that crazy, hyperactive, talk-your-ear-off girl like back in my junior year at OSSM... Aw, the good ol' times! Remember the "waterbra incident," feelin' our goods? Yeahh.. haahaha those were the days..
Duy and I went up to KC, MO and Kansas, to go visit Chi Lan's baby boy. He's so cute and chubby, I couldn't stop pinching his baby fat! Hehehe We also picked up Lilo, Duy's cuter than cute mutt of a dog. She's a mean little monster, though, and she will bite your fingers off. But I still love her to death anyway! We went to the beautiful riverboat casino and ate to our heart's content at the BEST BUFFET IN THE WORLD. Duy and I, as always, out-ate everyone. Have you ever gotten full off of king crab legs??? I have, and it is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD. Chi Lan-Anh and Anh Dang took us out everywhere--to the club, to a bunch of restaurants, a Korean BBQ/sushi place, even. They even bought a few hundred pounds of oysters home and we had a huge oyster on the half-shell feast. I had so much fun with Duy's sister and brother and their generous hospitality. Duy and I are definitely going to have to spruce up their next visit to OKC somehow.
About a week after the KC trip, my familia and I took a roadtrip to California for my daddy's convention. Duy got to tag along, too, and that made the trip even more fantastic! We stayed at Duy's sister's place most of the time since my parents were visiting friends and were at their convention for the majority of the time there. The only crappy day was the day Duy left my ass for the beach, my sister ditched my lonely ass to go kick it with her KPL sisters at the mall, and I shopped my neglected heart out. Then I had some cool bonding time with my bro. Even showed the boy how to shop! Because, believe it or not, I have UNBELIEVABLY good taste in men's clothing. Ask my babe, even better, just LOOK at all the pimp A|X, Hollister, A&F clothing I bought him! :) I definitely got my SHOP ON in KC and CA, though. All the money Duy and I saved, not exactly sure how much, but probably $1000+, went straight into the pockets of A|X, Victoria's Secret, Forever 21, MAC, FCUK, and so much more. Roadtrips are expensive, indeed. >.< But it was worth it. :D
Then we hit up VEGAS, BABY!!!! We went with Chi Linh, Anh Jimmy, and Anh Jimmy's family. And have you guys ever seen The Fast and the Furious? Well, I f'ing LIVED IT. Andy drove the whole way to Vegas from Irvine, CA, and let me put it this way, he made a 4+ hour trip fly by in 1 hour and 20 minutes. Even Anh Jimmy got scared, Anh Jimmy who drives like 100mph everywhere, as he held onto his seat for dear life, "Andy!!! DUDE, THAT WAS UNCALLED FOR!!!" Las Vegas was grand, we stayed at a grand hotel (the MGM Grand, to be specific), and we all had a grand time. With the tiny exception of the fact that Duy and I almost got kicked out of our hotel by security... and I won't go into details about that one, hahaa. Duy and I won $800 for the day and a half we stayed there!!!!... But we lost it all! Damn, should've quit while we were ahead. LOL It's all good though. We would've lost the money, either way! Free drinks all night and all day at the tables! We should've played BEFORE hitting up STUDIO 54! Double-shot shots, dancing strippers, gay dancing men, and almost-naked women performing amazing acrobatic feats in the sky... yes, this is what real clubs are made of. But ONE beer = $8! Don't get me started on the sky-high restaurant prices!!! Just multiply regular prices by three, and you've got the basic prices. For example, a bowl of "Vietnamese pho" = $15 in Vegas! We spent like $500 for a single family dinner. Whoever said Las Vegas ain't cheap hit the nail on the head...
I got to see my SEXY LINNERS after months and months!!! Awww, LinLin and her tanned, beautiful abs. We had like a two-hour gabfest. Then I got to see her AGAIN, along with Barry, and Yu-Heng over at Sushi Neko. I thought I was sick of sushi, but Neko made me fall in love all over again. Hehe A memorable comment about my love life over sushi: "Hey Lisa, how long have you and Duy been going out?"-Barry... "Almost a year," replies me with a smile. "What was that guy you were dating before him? How long did it take you and Duy to get together?"-B "Uh, I dunno? Why??" "You know what? I would like to see the BACHELORETTE LISA. I don't remember you ever being single!" ---- and that, ladies and gentlemen, is what my SISTER ALWAYS says.
I got my wisdom teeth extracted and had a lower frenectomy, which is basically tongue surgery, done the 1st week of school. And whoever said there'd be just a "little bit" of swelling lied through their teeth!!! My cheeks were proportionally analagous to large watermelons. :*( And I was V'd out on my lowertabs for like forever. But as Sel so bluntly put it, "He may not be able to kiss you now... But when your tongue is all healed, he will looooooove it!" HAHA! Awww, I missed my Sel!
I QUIT SHIKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And damn, does LIBERATION feel GOOD!
And HOW DID ANY OF YOU KNOW ABOUT MY NEW OCCUPATION??? Hahahaha... I'll tell ya about that one another day... ;D
Oh, by the way... please no questions about the previous entry. I am not a drama-starter, nor am I a drama-participator. Let's leave that shidds to the kids.
Okay... I think I'm done for now. I never update, but when I do, I do. Bye ya'll and have a great day. And I hope your eyes don't pop out in result to my quite embellished entry :) |
